Bob

I bobbed my hair today! It's the shortest it's been since kindergarten. I'm going to experiment and not style it at all after I take a shower to see what it looks like. Right now it's all nice from a one and a half hour job.

There are also now four frogs in the mountains named Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Fred, and Ginger. And one named Asta.
And one named Chocky. If I ever get an aquatic frog for the dorm I'm naming him Chocky.

Haha, you got your hair bobbed and I want my bob to grow a bit to not be too short. It's such an stylish and comfy haircut, right?

Hey! We can be the BOBbsey twins! What's the length of your bob? And how much work do you put in to style it?

My bob is quite short and no, I do not put too much work on it at the moment because I want to make it grow and, surely, change hairstyle. it's just the basic bob with a stright bang (?) I'm not sure how it's said. I would show you a pic bu I'm looking goofy there lol And yours? What kind of bob style do you have? The classic one?

I always look goofy!
Mine is angular so it's shorter in the back.
I only keep my same hairstyle as long as the hair style lasts. For example, I'm not going to have a trim to maintain the bob for my next hair appointment. I get a different style every time.
I look so tired, hence the black and white. But this is the basic shape. We can ignore the rest of me.

oh not worry about the tired look, I always looks tired (Haven't sleep properly since several months ago). Oh, I love the angular cut, in my opinion it's the best for bobs. (and that haircut will be perfect with that gorgeous gown and shoes you bought!) I would love to have mine cut that way but, due my hair is kind of 'alive' and doesn't comb the way I want (keeps curling the whole time) I can't have that style.

Ok, I'll show you mine, do not laugh. I was goofing around with the russian uniform jacket I bought. Pity, you can't see the back but, basically, it has a straight cut instead and angular one. http://g672.deviantart.com/art/My-new-jacket-108805220

I tried not too, but I had a veeeery miniscule laugh but only because of your facial expression in the picture on the left. :D
You could be like Louise Brooks.
Your eyes are really pretty. Sort of like Ginger blue. That's so cool you have dark hair but light eyes. I just have dark hair AND dark eyes, hence, I'm boring. It's funny because my dad has light eyes and curly blonde hair (a little browner now than before) and clearly I inherited none of that!

Haha! I knew that you would laugh with the left one. I told you that I was kind of being silly (and proud of my jacket) :P

Boring?! I love dark eyes! My husband has brown eyes and I found them very attractive. Yeah, my yes are blue and, depending on the light, light blue or greyish.

Aah, genetic is a joker, hehe... like my sisters. They are exactly like my father. Dark haired and dark eyes, I'm the unique that got my mother's eyes.

That is a cool jacket! Where is it from?
Well that's on a man! Dark eyes are different for men. That's generally the preference (or maybe just my preference).

I think we basically have the same length hair. Are you going to grow yours out really long?

It's a Russian Army Tank Corps woman jacket. I have almost a whole uniform (I love militaria)

Yeah, I prefer men with dark eues too.

Uf, not too long, perhaps just to shpulders lenght. I want to let it grow while I find a new hair style. I would like to try something from 30's or 40's

Lauren said...

Ooh wow, you can use it for Halloween!

30s hairstyles seem like they would be tricky because they look like a lot of work is involved. With the 40s ones, you can use basic curlers. The 30s seem to be a lot of a crimp and curl on the same head of hair.
But if you find something that works and isn't too time consuming let me know! I always wanted to try 30s. I'll have to wait until my hair grows out a little.

We do not celebrate Halloween here as you do there. We miss all the fun, lol but! surely, soon some friends and I will make another photocosplay and I'll ask the photographer to take a couple of pics with this uniform.

Same here, I want to wait until my hair is long enough to try some things. The good thing is that you can find in youtube pages like this one: http://www.youtube.com/user/LisaFreemontStreet where she teachs you to comb your hair and make up as in 30's/40's style. Very useful. ;)

Oh I've seen that one! She does cool make up too. I need to research 20s make up.

Wait you said you don't celebrate Halloween were you live as we do here, so does that mean you celebrate it differently, or not at all?
Wait so you don't do Thanksgiving either! You do Christmas at least, right? What's the Holiday Season if half the holidays are cut out! :(

Lauren

Yeah, I live in Europe, in Spain and here, well, we do not celebrate Halloween the same you do but lately things are changing and people is starting to do similar things like disguise parties, etc. We have more or less the same holidays (only changing some names or what you do those days) and yeah, he have Christmas too. ;)

Like a masquerade? That would be cool to go to. Maybe kids will start to trick-or-treat there? That's the main thing.
What's on your wish list for Christmas? I definitely am asking for some more Fred and Ginger stuff (maybe pictures?), an Anthropologie gift card, and something from the next vintage expo!!

Lauren

Maria said...

Yeah, some clubs, pubs, discos make masquerades. It woul be nice to see kids doing trick or treat because, If I were a kid I would love it.

Same here, hehe. Wanna get Fred's movies (I still need to get some) and some pics or some cool memorabilia from Ginger & Fred. Aw, Vintage expo! You're lucky, lauren. I wish we had those here too. I would love to check and buy a few things there. Like shoes or skirts.

Lauren said...

They don't have any vintage clothes anywhere? You can go to London and look! :) I want to go look there (if I can ever get over there!). Hey, I might go to France after I take French lessons in the summer! Or I might stay in Belgium because I know people there. You know French? You can help me study for the tests? :D

Right now we an't travel as much as we would like to. We just moved recently from France (We have lived there for almost a whole year) and we had to do a lot of home improvement back at our house. Oh! If you go to France, you'll love it, that's for sure. I Did and I even miss it now that I'm back at Spain. No, I can't help you with french, never learned it, lol. Only spanish and english here ;)

Lauren said...

¿Puedas ayudarme con espaƱol?
A girl Raquel and I help each other with Spanish/English on YouTube. I'm not very good with speaking Spanish though because we never really practiced. And I know I mess up when I type it. But I guess as long as people know what I'm talking about! I suppose... :)

Lauren

Maria said...

Sure, no problem at all. :D I could help you checking your posts in spanish and correcting what's wrong.

Lauren said...

Now why didn't I know you when I was actually taking Spanish at school? I just want to be able to use it a little and keep working on it so I don't forget it. Thanks!
